During 160 kilometers, the GR 573 trail discovers a beautiful and fascinating part of the province of Liège.

Starting in the industrial outskirts of Liège, the trail follows the Vesdre river passing by Chaudfontaine, Pepinster, Verviers and Eupen. From there it ascends along the Helle river to the Hautes Fagnes plateau and the highest spot in Belgium, Botrange. The trail then returns to Pepinster, following the Hoëgne river, and then back to the Pont de Belleheid, passing by Spa..

The Helle and Hoëgne are two of the most beautiful rivers of Belgium, and the Hautes Fagnes landscape is a unique natural reserve to discover.

The trail mounts and descends quite a bit requiring some healthy efforts from the hiker. The reward is found in the variety of landscapes offered and the number of culturally and historically interesting places visited.

In short, a GR trail worth hiking.
