GR 129 (Right through Belgium)
GR 129 is a Belgian trail taking the hiker from Bruges to Dinant. As such it represents a north-south cross-section of our little country. The itinerary leads through the provinces of West- and East-Flanders, Haînaut and Namur.
(map shown on www.groteroutepaden.be)
It's an ideal trail to get to know the rich diversity in landscapes and cultures offered by little Belgium.
The total length of this trail is 322 km. Maybe a substantial number of kilometers will be added to this figure, since for years there is talk about extending the trail up to Arlon, in the south of the province of Luxembourg. Preparations for this extension seem to be well on the way, and the new topoguide that will explain it all can be expected somewhere in the year 2012 (source: www.trekkings.be).
The GR 129 trail between Bruges and Dinant is documented in 2 topoguides.
